About Trinity University

Trinity University is a private, independent, primarily undergraduate, university in San Antonio, which is USA's 7th largest city and the 2nd largest one in Texas state, its population being approximated at a number of approximately 1.4 million inhabitants. San Antonio is also the county seat of Bexar County, and, its metropolitan area (San Antonio-New Braunfels), which houses more than 2 million people, is the 28th largest one in the US and the 3rd in the state.

The university was established in 1869 and was founded by Cumberland Presbyterians, in Tehuacana, Texas, moving to its present location, sometime after 1942, due to the fact that it was failing and a change was necessary. The current campus was opened in 1952, after 2 years of constructions, and, since then, the university has continuously grown.

Presently, Trinity offers the Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Master's degrees in teaching, school administration, or school psychology, Master of Science in Accounting and Master of Science in Health Care Administration, its students being able to choose from a number of 39 majors and 52 minors.

Athletics

Trinity's athletic teams are known as the Tigers and they compete in the NCAA's Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. Their distinctive colors are maroon and white.

Notable Alumni

The list of noteworthy Trinity alumni, also contains the names of: Jaclyn Smith - American actress and model, Richard Yoo - former CEO and Co-Founder of Rackspace, Former CEO and Founder of ServerBeach, and Henry T. Waskow - noted US Army officer in World War II.
